Eg underviser naturfag&nbsp;ved NLA H&oslash;gskolen, b&aring;de innan&nbsp;l&aelig;rarutdanning (barnehage og grunnskule) og vidareutdanning.
Eg er vegetasjons&oslash;kolog&nbsp;og forskingsarbeidet&nbsp;mitt er i stor grad knytt til effektar av granplanting i Noreg. Andre forskingsomr&aring;de er naturfagdidaktikk og bruk av digital teknologi i l&aelig;rarutdanningane. Eg er elles interessert i aktive undervisingsformer og korleis dei kan bidra til auka l&aelig;ring og engasjement for naturfaget.
Saman med kolleger ved NLA H&oslash;gskolen, deltek eg i eit nasjonalt og internasjonalt forskingssamarbeid i prosjektet DigiCross. Prosjektet vert leidd av professor Siri S. Madsen ved UiT, og eg leier det lokale prosjektet her ved NLA. DigiCross unders&oslash;kjer dynamikkar knytt til bruk av digital teknologi i l&aelig;rarutdanningane, og vi arbeider no med &aring; skrive nokre artiklar med s&aelig;rleg fokus p&aring; dei norske l&aelig;rarutdanningane. 
<p style="text-align: start; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;">Ein fokusart for arbeidet mitt innan vegetasjons&oslash;kologi, er sitkagran (Picea sitchensis), eit nordamerikansk treslag som er utplanta i stor grad p&aring; Vestlandet og i Nord-Noreg. Sitkagran spreier seg fr&aring; leplantingar og plantefelt og eg har unders&oslash;kt korleis sitkagran p&aring;verkar biologisk mangfald (karplanter og mosar) i kystlyngheier. Dette forskingsarbeidet har bidrege til risikovurderinga av sitkagran som i dag er svartelista (Artsdatabanken.no). Nyare prosjekt er knytt til restaurering av tidlegare vegetasjon etter fjerning av sitkagranplantasjar. I tidlegare prosjekt har eg unders&oslash;kt potensialet for &aring; f&aring; attende tidlegare lauvskogsvegetasjon etter at granplantingar vert fjerna. Vidare er eg oppteken av skogplanting sitt potensiale til &aring; redusere klimaendringar. Dette er ei aktuell sak i norsk klimapolitikk. Eg har m.a. skrive ein rapport p&aring; oppdrag for Finansdepartementet, der eg presenterer aktuell litteratur og trekkjer nokre konklusjonar om sp&oslash;rsm&aring;let: Er skogplanting eit godt klimatiltak i Noreg? Undervisingstema er m.a. økologi, artskunnskap, miljøtema, kjemi, astronomi og naturfagdidaktikk.
