What are the mandatory work requirements, and what rules apply to work requirements?

A mandatory course requirement is participation or activity that must be approved before you can take the exam in a subject. The course requirements can be written submissions or oral/practical activity. In many subjects, attendance is also a mandatory course requirement.

You can find an overview of mandatory course requirements in the course description for the subject.

Rules and deadlines for completing course requirements are published in Canvas at the start of the semester.

Not approved for mandatory assignment

  • If you do not get approval, you will normally get another attempt.
  • In some studies, an additional attempt is exceptionally granted.
  • If you do not meet the submission deadline and have not been granted an extension due to illness or other strong welfare reasons, you will normally not get another attempt.

If you do not have an approved mandatory assignment by the deadline for withdrawal from the exam, you will receive a warning about withdrawal from the exam and must retake the assignment the next time the course is offered.

Specific regulations regarding appeals for lack of approval of mandatory assignments

The student can only submit an appeal upon notification of withdrawal from the exam. The deadline for appeals is three weeks from the time the decision is received, but the student can submit an appeal as soon as the notification is received. This is for the benefit of the student, so that the student can appeal and receive a response to the appeal, as far as possible, before the exam date in the course.
