Renew, hold, order

You can renew books yourself, put yourself on the waiting list for books that are on loan (reserve), or order books that the NLA library does not have via Oria.

Renew your loans

You can log in to "My Account" in Oria and get an overview of your own loans and orders. Here you can also renew the loans, as long as there is no one on the waiting list. Each loan can be renewed up to three times.

You will find the login button at the top right corner of Oria's front page. Select Azure and log in via Feide with student number@nla.no and password. Once you are logged in, press "My Account" in the top menu, and select the "Loans" tab to get an overview of your own loans. If the loan has a clock with "renew" next to it, you can renew it. If the clock symbol is gone, it either means that there is a waiting list for the book, or that the loan has expired.

Reserve

Books that are available at your own library cannot be ordered – they must be picked up on the shelf.

You can reserve books that are on loan. You log in to Oria with Feide. When you have searched for the book in Oria, press "Find and order", and then "Order document". You are now on the waiting list, and will be notified via SMS and e-mail when the book is ready for collection.

Do not click on copy order if you have searched for a book – if you do, the reservation will not go through in the usual way. If the book is available at another NLA library than the one you belong to, place the order in the same way.

Order

If you want to order material that NLA does not have, follow almost the same recipe. Select the "Norwegian special libraries" tab, search for the title in Oria and press "Find and order" and "Order loan/order copy". The order is processed by the library staff, who order the material from another library. You will be notified by SMS and e-mail when the document is ready for collection.

Loans from libraries in Norway are free, but most foreign libraries charge for interlibrary loans, and the borrower must cover that cost. The price is approx. NOK 100 per loan from abroad. When borrowing books, we must comply with the lending rules of the owner library, so compensation claims may be higher than NLA's rates.
