Practice
Are you going on a placement, or are you receiving students for a placement? Here is an overview of how placements work with us – both in general and within each study program.
Practice in the individual educational programs
Does your workplace want to host students for internships?
This must be in place before you can go out on placement:
Police certificate of good conduct
In order to go out on placement, you must submit a valid police certificate of good conduct. The deadline is 1 September. You can apply for a police certificate of good conduct on the police's website. Here you must attach documentation, which you will find in the admission letter you have received, either from Samordna opptak or from NLA Høgskolen. When you receive the police certificate of good conduct, forward it to NLA's digipost.
The police certificate of good conduct cannot be older than 3 months upon submission.
Confidentiality declaration
A confidentiality declaration means that you have familiarised yourself with the conditions that apply to professional practice in the field related to the education you are taking, and that you sign that you will comply with the duty of confidentiality in accordance with applicable laws.
The duty of confidentiality also applies after the placement period has ended.
You will be asked to sign this at your educational institution. The deadline is 1 September.
Medical testing
In connection with placement, students in teacher education programmes and/or other education programmes with specific placement locations may be required to be tested for tuberculosis. Students on relevant study programmes will receive more information about this upon semester registration.
If you have stayed for at least 3 months in a country with a high incidence of tuberculosis in the last three years, and are going to have a placement in a school/kindergarten, you must be tested for tuberculosis. If you are covered by this, you are obliged to carry out testing yourself and submit test results to your educational institution.

Suitable for the Profession?
Suitability assessment is a comprehensive assessment of the student's academic, pedagogical, and personal qualifications to function in the profession. It shall determine whether a student poses a potential risk to the life, physical and mental health, rights, or safety of those the student encounters in practice or in future employment.
The suitability assessment shall protect vulnerable groups and individuals.
As a university college, we are obligated to conduct suitability assessments of students enrolled in programs covered by this in Regulations to the University and College Act.
