The campus is located in the idyllic area Gimlekollen, about 20 minutes from the city centre of Kristiansand. The campus is surrounded by idyllic nature in a calm neighbouhood. The school comprises a complex of one main building with a cafeteria, modern group study rooms, autitorium, seminar rooms, library, and hang-out areas. The campus has approximately 350 students. 

The technical facilities at the school include several digital workstations for the assembly of radio news packages, a digital radio studio, a radio continuity suite, a four-camera television studio together with a digital editing suite, and broadcasting facilities for both radio and television.

  • To Campus Gimlekollen (Bergtoras vei 120): Take bus number 19 towards Gimlekollen to bus stop Bergtoras Vei. From there you have to walk approximately 10 minutes alongside the lake.

History
Gimlekollen School of Journalism and Communication was established in 1981 as a private, Christian vocational media college. It had a dual focus from the beginning, on the one hand offering journalism training for working with the mainstream media and on the other hand offering media training for working with Christian organizations and churches. Gimlekollen got its first validation as a university college in 1996.

The Student Welfare Organisation in Kristiansand - SiA

SiA is the local Student Welfare Organisation in the south of Norway. SiA is governed by students, and they offer different services for students in the Kristiansand area including health services, housing, bookshops, social events, student restaurants and a fitness center.
