The award has been presented since 2008 to individuals or teams who contribute to quality in online education. Candidates are nominated by the institutions and assessed according to criteria such as quality in online learning processes, pedagogical use of technology, and development of flexible teaching. This year the field was strong, and two candidates received honorable mentions in addition to the winner.
Dypedal works with the development of flexible online studies and with training and follow-up of employees. She combines this with research on learning and the use of video, and has a clear commitment to strengthening students' awareness of their own learning. The jury specifically highlights her innovative use of personas in learning design to adapt the teaching to different student needs. This is a well-known method, but new and creative in this context, says the jury.
The award was presented at FuNKon tonight, November 25, where Dypedal also gave a lecture on how personas can contribute to better flexible education.
Honorable mentions went to Tore Johnsen (VID) and Øyvind Høie Henriksen (University of Inland Norway).
Vice Rector for Education, Amund Langøy, expresses great pleasure at the appointment:
– Hanne's work clearly shows how research, innovation and pedagogical innovation can raise the quality of digital education. She is an important driving force in our work with flexible and future-oriented education, and the award is an inspiration for both NLA Høgskolen and the sector.
Dypedal herself says:
– I am strongly committed to developing research-based online studies that provide good learning experiences. Student-active and varied learning is crucial, and the sector still has potential here. We must dare to think anew to raise the quality of digital education.
