A total of 34 representatives from 17 institutions in 12 countries participated. The participants mainly came from Europe, but also from countries such as Kenya and Madagascar. The group consisted of both academic staff and representatives from international offices.
Academic exchange and collaboration
The program offered lectures, presentations, and workshops. Participants were given an introduction to NLA and its study programs, and two international students shared their experiences from their studies.
Clemens Cavallin (professor) gave a lecture on artificial intelligence, while Alexander Bielicki (associate professor) addressed academic culture in Norway. In the workshops, participants discussed topics such as digitalization, development of research capacity, and intercultural communication.
On Tuesday, stands were also arranged where the institutions presented themselves to students and staff.
Social setting around academic program
The social program gave participants the opportunity to get to know each other better outside the lecture hall. A city tour, dinner at Fløyen, and a boat trip to Modalen were arranged. With sun and spring weather, Bergen showed itself from its best side.
The event received very positive feedback from the participants, who highlighted both the academic content and the good framework around the gathering.
– The goal of International Partner Days was to become better acquainted with our partner institutions, promote NLA as a collaborative institution, and facilitate networking. The event has helped to strengthen relationships, which we hope will lead to increased student mobility, more collaborative projects, and more research across institutions, says the head of internationalization at NLA, Mari Sagulin.
