Reserve

Books or journals that are available at your campus library cannot be reserved. However, if the material is not on the shelf, you can request it through Oria and be put on a waiting list. 

Sign in by using your regular NLA username and password. Search for the wanted material in Oria, click «Get it» (do not click «Digitization», the order will not go through) and finally «Request». You will recieve a confirmation e-mail that the request is being processed.

If the book is availiable at another NLA-library, you can place a reservation in the same way as previously described. 

Order

If you want to borrow a book or get a copy of an article that is not in the NLA library collection, choose the «All libraries»-tab in Oria, and the procedure is almost the same as above. Search for the book or article, click «Get it» and then «Resource sharing request». The material will be mailed to your library, and you will be notified via text message or e-mail when it has arrived. 

Inter-library loan from libraries within Oria and Norway is free of charge. The library can borrow books from libraries outside Norway, but that might bring costs for shipping and handling, usually about 100 NOK per loan.

For inter-library loans, the rules and regulations of the library that owns the document apply. Note that the fee charged for replacing a book may be higher at other libraries than at NLA University College.
