With around 350 students, NLA Høgskolen Kristiansand has a clear student environment with a high level of well-being, good practical training and the possibility of close academic follow-up. The distance between teaching rooms and the employees' offices is short in every way. Between lectures, or sessions in well-equipped work rooms, you can relax with friends in our bright and pleasant canteen.

Gimlekollen

The study location is in idyllic surroundings by Tretjønn in the Gimlekollen district of Kristiansand, and is often simply called "Gimlekollen". There are good hiking opportunities and great floodlit trails just outside the door.

Living student environment

As a new student, you can become part of a buddy group when you start at NLA in August. Through the start of studies at your study program and the buddy system, you will get to know other students, the study location and the study city well. As a student at NLA, you are also part of the larger student environment in Kristiansand through Studentsamskipnaden i Agder (SiA), and can enjoy the offers that this welfare and cultural organization has both when it comes to housing, training opportunities, student associations, health services, etc.

International profile

NLA Høgskolen Kristiansand has a strong international profile, and if you study here you will be offered study trips to England and East Africa, and exchanges to Africa, Europe and South America. Here you can read more about exchange.

Each semester we also have around 20 students from other countries who are taking a master's degree or are incoming exchange students to NLA and campus Kristiansand.
