Current topics include global media communication, how other societies and ethnic groups are covered in Norwegian media, the professional challenges journalists face in dealing with other cultural viewpoints, and the extent to which journalistic values can be said to be universal or linked to a particular society.
The study trip aims to examine the role of journalism in a society that is different from the Norwegian one, with a particular focus on the role of the media in democratization processes. It also seeks to understand important social and cultural conditions that affect development in the country and visits. During the study, there will be teaching, excursions and the use of local resource persons. Students will be given work assignments during the stay.
