Semester program in Education
- Bergen
- Semester program
- 30 ECTS
- Spring/autumn semester
About the semester program
The semester program consists of two courses on bachelor level:
- Comparative and Global Education, 15 ECTS
- Educating Vulnerable and Traumatized Children, 15 ECTS
The courses consist of weekly seminars of 3 hours each, where students are challenged to discuss and reflect on educational challenges and opportunities related to global crises, social injustice, forced displacement, trauma-affected children, and vulnerability.
The course seminars are research-based, practice-oriented, and student-centered. Students are exposed to a range of global educational research, including research projects led by the course lecturers. Through case-studies and group-work, students are also able to discern how theoretical research can be applied in the real world, including classrooms and other pedagogical settings in Scandinavia and beyond.
Students in the semester program in Education will study together with NLA’s full-degree students. The language of instruction is English.
