A modern manager must be able to see and plan for the future of organization. Manager's main functions include monitoring, analyzing and evaluating everything that the organization needs to achieve long-term goals and objectives. Therefore, the Strategic Management discipline, which gives students an understanding and the necessary knowledge and skills for the formation, selection, analysis, implementation, evaluation, and management of organization strategies, is needed to train a modern manager. However, modern working conditions in the markets require increased attention to the state of the environment and social factors that are included in this discipline. In addition, the digitalization of management processes makes it necessary to include in the discipline and issues of using business intelligence for the strategic management of an organization.

- realize what is strategy, strategic management and why organisation needs them
- understand the approaches to strategic management, the ways to define the vision, mission, goals and strategy of organization, conduct internal and external research using well-known methods and tools for situational analysis.
- recognize the difference between strategy as a plan and strategy as a pattern
- explain how strategy processes can be managed and influenced through the design of vision, goals, assignments, principles and ethical guidelines
- understand the relationship between innovation and strategy and between resources, competencies and strategy
- describe important management and ethical challenges in the strategy subject
- know how to evaluate, implement and govern a strategy
- understand the goals and a role of sustainability and corporate social responsibility in managing organization
- know how to use the tools of Business intelligence in strategic management and realize the prospects of strategic management

- can define the vision, mission, goals and strategy of organization, conduct internal and external research using well-known methods and tools for situational analysis (5F, SWOT, PESTEL, etc.)
- can determine a view of the future, develop different strategies, evaluate and choose a strategy
- can see the relationship between organizational structure, organizational culture and choice of strategic main direction
- describe different business models, understand and evaluate the business model in a specific business
- can analyze and understanding strategic choices at the business unit level and group level

Lectures, presentations, seminars, group work, dialogue in plenary and self-study. The teaching will be based on key challenges/problems in the subject area (problem-based teaching) and cases. The language of instruction is Ukrainian.
280 hours.
The following coursework requirements must be approved before the students can present themselves for the final assessment:
1. Making an individual 10 minutes oral presentation on one of the theoretical points of course
2. Preparing a written case (strategy) of 5-10 pages on the practical points of course
Approved/disapproved
Oral examination 20 minutes per student, 48 hours preparation time.
The oral exam is assessed with graded grades A to E for pass and F for fail.
