The following coursework must be approved by the stated deadlines to enable the student to sit the course examination:
- An AI-generated image with a description of the prompt and workflow, along with a video reflection that focuses on ethical questions and other aspects relevant for a certain profession. Length of the video reflection: 5-8 minutes. The reflection must use relevant research literature.
- An AI-generated video (30 seconds) with music and a voice-over, with a description of the prompt and workflow, and a video reflection that focuses on ethical questions and other aspects relevant for a certain profession. Length of the video reflection: 5-8 minutes. The reflection must use relevant research literature.
- A 10-minute individual oral presentation of the exam project.
If the coursework is not approved, the student will have one new opportunity within the same semester to submit a revised AI image or video, or video reflections, and to do a new oral presentation.
The assessment in the course is divided into two parts:
- A multimedia production that contains AI-generated voices, images, video, sound, and music to visualize and reflect on how generative AI affects a profession or field of study. The multimedia production must be between 3 and 5 minutes.
- A log that describes the production process and which AI tools and academic literature the student has used. This is submitted together with the production.
Both parts of the final assessment must be passed in order to receive a passing grade in the course.
The course provides an introduction to generative AI with a focus on image, video, and audio, such as voices and music. The student is provided with an overview of central ethical and societal issues related to the use of generative AI, for example, “Deep Fakes,” copyright infringement, and the importance of human creativity.
The course also aims to give the student basic abilities to use AI systems to generate images, video, sound, and music in a way that is relevant within a specific profession. For example, as a teacher in school or as a media producer.
On completion of the course, the student has achieved the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge
The student
- has basic knowledge of generative AI with a focus on image, video, sound, and music.
- is familiar with some of the most central discussions surrounding the ethically sound and sustainable use of AI.
Skills
The student
- can use some systems for generative AI with a focus on image, video, and audio.
- can use generative AI in a relevant way linked to a specific profession or subject area.
- can reflect critically on the relationship between human creativity and AI-generated resources.
General competence
The student
- is aware of ethical issues related to the use of generative AI.
- knows how generative AI can be used to develop practices within a specific profession or subject area.
Optional course in the study program: Introduction to generative artificial intelligence: Image, video, sound, and music.
The course is optional in several bachelor programs.
